This really isn’t too deep. I’m not particularly obsessed with Star Wars. After more than 20 years successfully promoting other people’s brands, it was time to choose one for myself. Every serious consulting name that I thought was remotely good was already in use, and completely failed to differentiate me from all the other consultants out there. Trying to find something that worked for both consulting and coaching was even more complicated. But as it turns out, senior strategists named Hahn are fairly rare. And, at least for the foreseeable future, I’m a solo operation, so it felt more honest than “Hahn & Associates” or “Hahn Advisors.”
Being the brand geek that I am, I of course had to dig a little and make sure the Star Wars character Han Solo wasn’t revoltingly incongruous with my own personal brand. He certainly wasn’t perfect (so that’s a good match). Somewhat cocky, maybe a little rude, but really good at what he did. He was often a lone wolf, but did what had to be done for the common good.
These brands can work together. I think Han Solo would approve.
